Project Concept
The main material of this work is cut branches that were discarded after fulfilling their original role in the orchards of the Guanshan area.
When I was a child, I remembered making a sailboat out of pieces of wood my father had collected, breathing new life into them. Inspired by that memory, I wanted to give these abandoned branches a new purpose.
These branches have reached the end of their lives as fruit trees, but now they are reborn as materials for art, beginning a new life in a different form. Over time, they will inevitably decay and disappear. However, before that happens, the vines planted around the artwork serve as supportive structures and take on a new role.
As the vines climb up the branches, they gradually become part of the work, with their appearance constantly changing with the seasons. In this way, the work is not a static, completed piece but rather a form of “naturally evolving” art that lives, breathes, and transforms with nature.
The ultimate goal of this project is to observe how nature intervenes in the basic structure I have constructed as an artist, how each material changes over time according to its own inherent characteristics, and to show how the work evolves into a piece of organic art through this process.

You smiled and talked to me of nothing and I felt that for this I had been waiting long.《Stray Birds》No.42
